CNRGV welcomes Diego Pignataro during a period of 4 months within the framework of a collaboration established with the University of Lima in Peru (Gisela Orjeda the Head of the Genomics Research Unit). His project of research aims at the positional cloning of a rust resistance gene in barley. The barley is the most ancient cultivated cereal. The barley is an important energy resource in animal feed. During his stay, Diego will construct and screen a barley BAC library in order to isolate the genomic region responsible for the rust resistance phenotype.
